A person who is an emergency contact does NOT have authorization to have access to the campus or student without separate written permission from a parent/guardian. The school initiates contact when parent/guardian cannot be reached. In the event the parent/guardian cannot be reached, the student will only be released to persons designated on the school’s emergency card.

During school hours if someone other than the parent or guardian picks up the student, a note from the parent/guardian indicating who will be picking up the student is needed.

Parent/guardian is contacted if the student is sick and leaving from the clinic.  At that time the parent/guardian can pick up or designate someone from the emergency contact list to pick up.

Loss of Credit Due to Excessive Absences

A student may not receive credit for a class or may be retained unless they have been in attendance for at least 90 percent of the days the class is offered during the semester.  This applies to excused and unexcused absences.

If a student is in attendance for at least 75 percent but less than 90 percent, a student can be given credit for a class if the student completes a credit restoration plan approved by the school principal/designee that provides for the student to meet the requirements of the course. This plan must meet the instructional requirements of the class.
